Tattoo my soul with songs of love
and pierce my heart with kisses,
A permanent display of trust
and everlasting wishes.
I'll drink your love in till I'm drunk
and smoke out all your sorrows,
I'll be the tea in which you dunk
your biscuit of tomorrows.
I'll treasure you like precious gold -
engrave your name with mine,
And through the years, we won't get old -
but mature, like vintage wine.
I cannot hope or dream of more
or less than what we've got,
I'll love you when you're frail and poor -
I'll love with all I've got.
Just tell me that you feel the same
and that we'll stay together,
'cos even if you leave me -
this tattoo will last forever.

Escape
There’s nothing to do, so I roll another,
A midnight drink for a lonely lover,
Trying to get high, but it’s getting me down,
I paint on a smile but it looks like a frown.
Ignoring the calls from my chronic mother,
I need to escape her malignant smother,
So I wonder the stagnant streets at night,
Don’t mind if I’m wrong, don’t care if I’m right.
Help me escape from this endless depression,
Lift from my shoulders life’s heavy oppression,
Open my eyes, so again I can see -
And be happy, contented, in just being me.

It's Midnight and The Boys are Coming
It's midnight and The Boys are coming,
Grab your coat and keep on running
Through the empty echo streets
And down the dank and dusky alleys.
A smile's a foe if you don't know it,
So be sure of who you know.
An evil man will never show it
And wicked women fall so low.
Pull your coat around your chin
And watch the pavement as you go,
The tyrant Concrete rules the ground
But cracks will form, and seeds will grow.
When all is burning hell around you,
Stay focused on the winding path,
A life of struggle, versus
An eternity at Satan's Hearth.
Grab your coat and keep on running
Through the empty echo streets
And down the dank and dusky alleys.
A smile's a foe if you don't know it,
So be sure of who you know.
An evil man will never show it
And wicked women fall so low.
Pull your coat around your chin
And watch the pavement as you go,
The tyrant Concrete rules the ground
But cracks will form, and seeds will grow.
When all is burning hell around you,
Stay focused on the winding path,
A life of struggle, versus
An eternity at Satan's Hearth.

Divorce
My life began when I was four,
My daddy left, walked out the door.
I packed my games and dolls away,
It’s hard to laugh and smile and play
When mum is crying all the time.
Who cares for toys, or treats of sweets
When dad is gone, and mummy weeps?
I have to brush my hair myself,
And hide the wine on the top shelf
When mum is crying all the time.
At night, asleep, I can still hear
The fighting, howling in my ear.
I dream of playing in the park -
Those happy visions black and dark
When mum is crying all the time.

A Taste of Love
I hunger for a taste of love
But find the cupboard bare,
I lick my lips for lingering crumbs
But love has none to spare.
Fill me up with sweet emotion
Ease the rumblings of my heart,
Fatten me with pure devotion;
Let pastry arms encrust my tart.
Clog my veins with sultry sighs
And ice my cake with kisses;
Don’t poison me with covert lies
Or flavourless dismisses.
Though starving now, I do admit –
I’ve tasted love before;
In gluttony I gorged on it
‘Till I was sick and sore.
The secret truth of food and love
Is found in moderation,
Excess is reminiscent of
The painful deprivation.
So take love with a pinch of salt
And switch to low-fat cream,
A healthy, balanced heart exalts
In love’s delicious dream.

Lend Me Your Shoes
Lend me your shoes so I can dance,
In bare feet, I don’t stand a chance
Of dancing through the Devil’s fire;
Hot coals of passion and desire.
Lend me your coat so I can stand
The bitter winds of this harsh land,
The icy judgments of old friends,
Too proud to shake and make amends.
Lend me your scarf so I can hide
Behind the wool, behind my pride;
Conceal me now so I won’t show
The secrets they can never know.
Lend me your heart so I can fight
The chains that hold me down so tight,
Our strength combined will win this war,
And love will be the only law.

Entwined, Elated, Euphoric.
In my dreams we are together,
Our bodies entwined; Elated, euphoric.
We are naked and free from the shackles of distance,
But to the fetters of love, we succumb; No resistance.
We speak with our eyes and we love through our touch,
Our bodies entwined; Elated, euphoric.
Our hearts beat out of time, but sing the same, sweet tune,
And I bathe in your lustre, by the light of the moon.
The moon and the stars dance away through the night,
And my dream disappears with the trespassing light.
You slip from my arms as reality dawns,
And I yearn to be one with you once more,
Entwined
Elated
Euphoric.
